摘要: The growth of human population leads to intensification of agriculture and promotes, through eutrophication, development of cyanobacteria. One of the most widespread and bloom-forming species in freshwater is toxic ( ). Combustion of fossil fuels and metallurgical processes are the main sources of heavy metals contamination in surface water including cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb). The following study was conducted in order to determine the effect of 1–20 mg·L of Cd and Pb on photochemistry (using flow cytometry) and growth (based on chlorophyll concentration) of as well as to estimate levels of metal bioaccumulation. We have found that 1–10 mg·L of Cd and 1–5 mg·L of Pb induced continuous enhancement of chlorophyll fluorescence during 24 h of incubation. No significant degradation of chlorophyll was observed in these samples. At higher concentrations of 20 mg·L of Cd and 10–20 mg·L of Pb chlorophyll level significantly decreased and its fluorescence was quenched. demonstrated high capability of Cd and Pb bioaccumulation, proportionally to initial metal concentration. In samples with initial concentration of 20 mg·L of Cd and Pb bioaccumulation of 87.3% and 90.1% was observed, respectively. Our study demonstrates that can potentially survive in highly metals polluted environments, be a primary source of toxic metals in the food chain and consequently contribute to enhanced toxicity of heavy metals to living organisms including human.

A density functional theory study of the adsorption of Hg and HgCl2 on a CaO(001) surface

摘要: The adsorption of mercury and mercury chloride on a CaO(001) surface was investigated by the density functional theory (DFT) by using CaO cluster embedded in an electrostatic field represented by 178 point charges at the crystal CaO lattice positions. For the mercury molecular axis normal to the surface, the mercury can only coordinate to the O anion and has a very weak binding energy of 19.649 kJ/mol. When the mercury chloride molecular axis is vertical to the surface, the Cl atom coordinates to the Ca cation and has a binding energy of 23.699 kJ/mol. When the mercury chloride molecular axis is parallel to the surface, the Hg atom coordinates to the O anion and has a binding energy of 87.829 kJ/mol, which means that the parallel geometry is more stable than the vertical one. The present calculations show that CaO injection could substantially reduce gaseous mercury chloride, but have no apparent effect on the mercury, which is compatible with the available experimental results. This research will provide valuable information for optimizing and selecting a sorbent for the trace element in flue gas.

辽河流域六价铬和无机汞应急水质标准研究

摘要:

针对辽河流域的特征污染物六价铬和无机汞,广泛搜集、筛选了水生生物的急性毒性数据,对国际物种敏感度分布(SSD)主流方法的基准计算结果进行了评价。基于评价结果,以澳大利亚和新西兰的SSD技术为基础,初步建立了综合的应急水质标准方法学。将受污染物暴露胁迫的水生生物比例达到5 %、15 %、30 %和50 %时对应的生态风险级别分别设定为I级、II级、III级和IV级,且对应于4级应急水质标准。推算了六价铬和无机汞的辽河流域应急水质标准限值,提出了相应的流域风险指示生物。结果表明,六价铬的4级应急水质标准分别为2.85 μg/L、21.0 μg/L、161 μg/L和797 μg/L,风险指示生物为溞类(II级)、青虾(III级)和鳙鱼或蝌蚪(IV级);无机汞的4级应急水质标准分别为0.59 μg/L、2.32 μg/L、6.25 μg/L和15.6 μg/L,风险指示生物为鲫鱼或溞类(II级)、青虾(III级)、水丝蚓或蟹类(IV级),为突发性水环境污染事故风险分析提供了参考。

Comparison of masking agents for antimony speciation analysis using hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry

摘要: A sensitive atomic spectrometric method for the redox speciation analysis of Sb in water is described. The proposed method is based on the selective generation of stibine from Sb(III) in a continuous flow system using non-dispersive atomic fluorescence spectrometry for detection. The effects of the HCl concentration on the fluorescence intensities of Sb(III) and Sb(V) were investigated. The results indicated that atomic fluorescence emission due to Sb(V) can constructively interfere with the determination of Sb(III). For the determination of Sb(III), four compounds were tested as masking agents to inhibit the generation of stibine from Sb(V). The effects of the concentrations of the masking agents and of HCl on the fluorescence signals from Sb(III) and Sb(V) were studied. The results indicated that citric acid and NaF can successfully suppress hydride generation from Sb(V). To evaluate the developed methodology and the influence of the matrix, the recovery of Sb(III) from natural water that was spiked with different Sb(III) and Sb(V) concentrations was tested.
